exploring new frontiers in innovation
Through new and existing collaborations, the Innovation Center coordinates a wide range of research projects to unlock new tools for effective health care delivery.
The Innovation Center's demonstrated history of capacity and capability in imaging science has won it distinguished acclaim. Through collaborations with the Wallace-Kettering Neuroscience Institute, we have advanced diagnosis and care for stroke and epilepsy patients. We are now directing our considerable expertise and imaging capabilities to focus on areas such as fatigue, traumatic brain injury, and cancer treatment.
Supporting over 40 ongoing trials, the Innovation Center has established successful partnerships with numerous Fortune 500 companies. We've also conducted many successful trials with smaller companies seeking to test innovative products in clinical settings. Depth of experience and the ability to consistently meet recruiting goals underscore the effectiveness of the Innovation Center's work in this area.
As part of the Kettering Health Network, a Top Ten Health System in the U.S. (2009, 2010), the Innovation Center offers its partners considerable access. The Network comprises seven nationally recognized acute care hospitals in diverse settings with over 1400 registered beds, 60 outpatient centers, and a recently opened, state-of-the-art cardiac hospital. These are supported by an experienced base of 9,500 health care professionals, 1500 physicians, and two medical education programs. This extensive access and support provides multiple opportunities to engage in translational research in community-based settings well-suited to effectiveness and outcomes research. The Innovation Center offers ideal settings in which to bring the latest findings to the bedside. The Innovation Center is located close to several major research universities including The University of Cincinnati and The Ohio State University. This proximity provides the benefits academic health centers offer, while also offering the speed and agility of a Top Ten Health System unfettered by the complications of a research-saturated environment.
